{"id":1791,"date":"2019-01-01T16:13:32","date_gmt":"2019-01-01T16:13:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.karongadiocese.org\/?p=1791"},"modified":"2019-01-01T16:13:32","modified_gmt":"2019-01-01T16:13:32","slug":"bishop-mtumbuka-impressed-with-peaceful-coexistence-among-religions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.karongadiocese.org\/index.php\/bishop-mtumbuka-impressed-with-peaceful-coexistence-among-religions\/","title":{"rendered":"Bishop Mtumbuka Impressed With Peaceful Coexistence Among Religions"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">By Wezi Mwangonde<\/span> <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As the Catholic Diocese of Karonga joins the rest of the world in the commemoration of World Day of Peace, Bishop Martin Anwel Mtumbuka says he is impressed with peaceful coexistence among followers of different faiths in the jurisdiction of the diocese.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1792\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1792\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-1792\" src=\"http:\/\/www.karongadiocese.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Appointments-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Bishop Mtumbuka hails unity among followers of different religions\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1792\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bishop Mtumbuka hails unity among followers of different religions<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In an interview, after the Eucharistic celebration of the Solemnity of Mary Mother of God at St Mary\u2019s Parish in Karonga Diocese, Bishop Mtumbuka said as a leader of the diocese he has never had any complaint that people are in a conflict due to religion differences and he describes the development as of great importance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bishop Mtumbuka highlighted that Karonga Diocese has some parts which are historically known with violent conflicts and said unfortunately these wrangles are caused by poor leadership at local level.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He added that it is very pathetic that in some countries or areas people are not at peace because of differences in faith such as a misunderstanding between Muslims and Christians.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI have observed with great concern that conflicts which occur within the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Karonga are caused by local leaders such as chiefs.
