{"id":2316,"date":"2019-07-29T14:42:27","date_gmt":"2019-07-29T14:42:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.karongadiocese.org\/?p=2316"},"modified":"2019-07-29T14:42:27","modified_gmt":"2019-07-29T14:42:27","slug":"go-to-the-world-and-proclaim-the-good-news-newly-ordained-priests-exhorted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.karongadiocese.org\/index.php\/go-to-the-world-and-proclaim-the-good-news-newly-ordained-priests-exhorted\/","title":{"rendered":"Go to the world and proclaim the Good News: Newly Ordained Priests Exhorted"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By Jordan Simeon-Phiri<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Bishop made the remarks on Saturday during the ordination of the new priests of the Diocese at St Joseph the Worker Cathedral in the border district of Karonga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drawing his Homily from Mathews 28 v 19 and Isaiah\nchapter 6 vs1-9, Bishop Mtumbuka likened their call to God\u2019s work to that of\nIsaiah when he was called by God to be a prophet and the apostles that Jesus\nChrist sent to the world to preach the Gospel to all nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPriesthood is a call from God Himself and you have\nreceived that call to serve the Lord, save the lost souls and preach the Gospel\nto those who need it and there is no excuse about that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTherefore, I urge you to dedicate your time helping Christians\ngrow in spirit, build peace and seek justice when settling family, social and Church\ndisputes. Always be at your duty station so that you are always found when your\nflock need your spiritual help,\u201d the Bishop said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Taking his turn, the Diocesan Laity Council (DLC) Chairperson\nJohn Mtambo said the ordination of the three priests shows that the Church is\ngrowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking on behalf of his fellow priests, Father\nAtupele Kuyoka said they are ready for the mission, saying the priestly vows\ntaken are a clear testimony that they have accepted to be used as God\u2019s messengers<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Bishop has since appointed the three to serve in\nvarious parishes and institutions as follows: Father Anthony Mwafulirwa, Curate\nat St Ignatius Parish in Nthalire; he is also Chaplain for St Ignatius Catholic\nSecondary School. Father Atupere Kuyokwa, Curate at St Matthias Mulumba Parish\nin Misuku and Father Joseph Mkinga, Curate at St Joseph the Worker Cathedral in\nKaronga; he is also Chaplain for Chaminade and St Mary\u2019s Girls secondary\nschools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">*The author is a Contributor.
