{"id":2349,"date":"2019-08-06T14:12:10","date_gmt":"2019-08-06T14:12:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.karongadiocese.org\/?p=2349"},"modified":"2019-08-06T14:12:10","modified_gmt":"2019-08-06T14:12:10","slug":"put-god-first-women-urged","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.karongadiocese.org\/index.php\/put-god-first-women-urged\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cPut God First,\u201d Women Urged"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By Wyness Kibogoyo<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bishop Anwel Mtumbuka on Friday&nbsp; urged Wamana Wa Chitemwano (Women of Charity)\nto put God first in everything they do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mtumbuka proclaimed this, on Friday, during the\ncelebration of Holy Eucharist marking the official opening of the lay\nmovement\u2019s annual retreat at Kaseye Shrine in chitipa district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his homily, the Bishop said Christians especially\nwomen in the Church detach themselves from God due to the challenges they face,\nbut when they come together it helps them build their faith and pray to God to\nhelp them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that the retreat is so special since it was\norganized for them to come together and focus on Jesus Christ in prayers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He further expressed his gratitude to those women who\nturned up for the retreat and urged them to put God first in everything they do\nas Christians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am very grateful today seeing all of you gathered\nhere to share the word of God. We are not here only to receive blessings of God\nbut also to share the word with others, preach the word to others for them to\nbe saved and have the eternal life,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bishop further encouraged Wamama wa Chitemwano to\nembrace the spirit of charity, sharing and taking care of one another. He also\nurged them to respect one another and their leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He expressed hope that the retreat would mould them\nto be better mothers in their families, Church, and the entire diocese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Above all, the women were encouraged to pray together\nwith their families and Church, preach and share the word and abide by the word\nof God, the three things would help them grow spiritually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his remarks, the Chaplain for Lay Movements in\nKaronga Diocese, Father Laurent Dziko said he is encouraged to see the women\ngathered in their large numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am very encouraged to see the multitude who are flocking\nto these retreats. The theme for the retreat reflects the meaning of Women of\nCharity and what the women in the organization ought to be doing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking on behalf of the women at the retreat,\nEllena Mhango from St Mary\u2019s Parish in Karonga said she was very happy to be at\nthe retreat because the place is taken as a holy place where all their problems\nwill be solved after prayers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am very happy, as human beings we face many\nproblems and go through different challenges, but our coming here will mean a\nlot to us. Our problems will be solved because will have enough time chatting\nand adoring God,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The month of August is a special month for the lay\nmovements in the Diocese of Karonga as it is dedicated to retreats.
