Bishop Martin Anwel\nMtumbuka of the Diocese of Karonga has on 4th<\/sup> August, 2019\nadministered the Sacrament of Confirmation to 150 Christians at St Anne\u2019s\nParish Station in Karonga District. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Out of the 150 confirmands,\n103 are Junior Sunday school children an indication that the Catholic Church is\ngrowing steadily due to efforts of the Pastoral Commission through the Sunday\nSchool Project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Sunday School Project\nis playing a major role in laying the foundation of the future Church, which\nwill have a strong faith base, as the project mainly targets children and the\nyouth who are the future leaders and elders of the Church. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In his homily, the\nBishop highlighted the significance of the three Sacraments of Christian\nInitiation, namely; Baptism,<\/strong> Confirmation<\/strong> and the Eucharist.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n He said the Church\nteaches that the sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation lead us as Christians\ntowards the sacrament of the Eucharist, in which we meet Jesus Christ, our\nSaviour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Bishop\ntherefore admonished the faithful to open themselves up to the sacraments as\nthese help in reconciling them with God. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe only opportune\ntime we have to reconcile with our God, as Christians, is now when we are still\nalive.
