{"id":2376,"date":"2019-08-12T08:18:24","date_gmt":"2019-08-12T08:18:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.karongadiocese.org\/?p=2376"},"modified":"2019-08-12T08:18:24","modified_gmt":"2019-08-12T08:18:24","slug":"junior-sunday-school-children-exchange-visits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.karongadiocese.org\/index.php\/junior-sunday-school-children-exchange-visits\/","title":{"rendered":"Junior Sunday School Children In Exchange Visit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">By Benedict Masudi Kauteka<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Forty five (45) junior\nSunday school (JSS) children from St Denis Parish in the Diocese of Mzuzu, in the\ncompany of their six (6) instructors, visited their fellow children at St\nAnne\u2019s Parish of Karonga Diocese from 8<sup>th<\/sup> to 11<sup>th<\/sup> August,\n2019. This was a return visit as children from St Anne\u2019s Parish visited them\nlast year. This visit was meant to cement their relationship in Christ. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking on behalf of JSS\nchildren from St Denis Parish, Tapiwa Moyo pointed out that their four day visit\nwas enriching as they have exchanged a number of skills, values, attitudes,\nexperiences and knowledge, with their fellow children from St Anne\u2019s, which will\nhelp deepen their faith. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have learnt a lot\nfrom our colleagues here. For instance, a song of peace done just after\nreceiving Holy Communion,\u201d said Tapiwa. She said the song of peace communicates\nimportant Christian values worth living. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, Matthews\nKaira, one of the instructors from St Denis acknowledged that the children have\nlearnt quite a lot from St Anne\u2019s Parish JSS children, like a new tune of the\nCreed. He further said they have also learnt the extended version of the Gloria\nhymn. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Henry Mtonga, a junior\nSunday school instructor at St Anne\u2019s Parish also appreciated the activities\nwhich are done by junior Sunday school children together with their instructors.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have learnt, among\nother things, the administration monthly tests based on the instruction given\nto children,\u201d said Henry in his remarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Junior Sunday school\nchildren from Rumphi perform a number of activities at their parish which\ninclude visiting and cheering the sick, visiting the elderly, attending\ninstructions every Saturday, and leading liturgy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Liturgy, they do a\nnumber of activities which include performing the role of the usher, taking the\nreadings, preaching and leading in singing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is the expectation of\ninstructors and children from both parishes to see their relationship growing\nand enriching each other spiritually. Children were full of joy as they\ninteracted with each other. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children from St Denis\npresented gifts to their fellow children from St Anne\u2019s. The presented gifts\nincluded items such as plastic cups, plastic plates and plastic bucket as shown\non the pictures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, Rev. Fr. Dr.\nSteven Bulambo expressed his gratitude for the role played by junior Sunday\nchildren from the two parishes in the liturgy as almost everything was done by\nthem. They took the readings, intercessions and led the singing during the\nservice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his remarks, Rev.
