Bishop Martin Anwel Mtumbuka\nof the Diocese of Karonga has officially opened the preparations for St Mary\u2019s\nParish 75 Years jubilee. The Bishop made the announcement on 18th<\/sup>\nAugust, 2019 when he administered the Sacrament of Confirmation at St Mary\u2019s\nParish where over 275 parishioners were confirmed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In his homily, the Bishop\ndecreed that from 18th<\/sup> August, 2019, parishioners were permitted to start\npreparing for the Diamond Jubilee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cSt Mary\u2019s Parish is\nthe \u2018mother\u2019 parish of the Diocese. It started as one parish but now we are a\ndiocese. So we really need to prepare well for the jubilee,\u201d said the Bishop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He further thanked all those\nwho have supported the parish from its establishment to the present time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou must remain\nfaithful to, and defend, your Church for the diocese has been built on their\nunwavering faith,\u201d said the Bishop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis parish has gone\nthrough various experiences. We need to honour all the priests and identify as\nwell as invite to the jubilee ceremony those Catholic Christians that has been\nassociated with St Mary\u2019s Parish for over 60 years and above. These people need to be credited in a special\nway,\u201d said the Bishop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Turning to the newly\nconfirmed Christians, the Bishop urged them to remain united in faith. He\nreminded them that the Church is One and that no one will be privileged to go\nto paradise based on their affiliation to certain tribe or language.
