{"id":2534,"date":"2019-10-22T07:06:10","date_gmt":"2019-10-22T07:06:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.karongadiocese.org\/?p=2534"},"modified":"2019-10-22T07:06:10","modified_gmt":"2019-10-22T07:06:10","slug":"diocese-of-karonga-launches-catholic-scout-organisation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.karongadiocese.org\/index.php\/diocese-of-karonga-launches-catholic-scout-organisation\/","title":{"rendered":"Diocese of Karonga Launches Catholic Scout Organisation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bishop\nMartin Anwel Mtumbuka of the Diocese of Karonga has officially launched\nCatholic Scout Organization of the Diocese during Prayers for Peace, Unity and\nReconciliation at St Joseph the worker Cathedral on Saturday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According\nthe Bishop, the Catholic Scout targets young people in the Diocese, and their\nmain activities are charity work, promoting peace within the Church and the\ncommunities, and serving as ushers during Diocesan events to make sure that\nthere is order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nScout Organisation of the Diocese has been holding meetings and engaging\nsimilar organisations both at national and international levels. But the launch\nfollows the induction of the members of the organisation which took place in\nthe Archdiocese of Mbeya in Tanzania. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\npioneer members of the group recently visited Tanzania where they underwent a\nPreliminary Training Course in Scouts. They were trained by the Chaplain of\nCatholic Scouts in Mbeya Archdiocese and also the Regional Commissioner for\nTanzania Scout Association. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On\ntheir arrival in Mbeya, the Scout leaders from Karonga were welcomed by Archbishop\nGervas Nyaisonga, who also delivered some lessons focusing on effective\nmanagement of Scout organization and other pertinent topics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In\nHis remarks, Archbishop Nyaisonga hailed the Bishop of the Diocese of Karonga,\nRight Reverent Martin Mtumbuka, for initiating the introduction of the group in\nthe Diocese and for letting them visit Mbeya. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\ngroup was accompanied by their Chaplain, Father Joseph Mkinga, who expressed a\nword of gratitude to Archbishop Nyaisonga for availing himself and orienting\nthem in what has to be done for Catholic Scout Organisations to achieve their\ngoals, objectives, management skills and policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nCatholic Scout Organisation has started working in two parishes, namely St\nJoseph the Worker Cathedral and St Mary\u2019s Parish and will embark on systematic\nexpansion which will see them establishing the grouping at St Anne\u2019s, St\nSteven\u2019s, St John Paul II and St Michael\u2019s parishes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\ngrouping is open to all Catholic youth from the age of 18. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bishop Martin Anwel Mtumbuka of the Diocese of Karonga has officially launched Catholic Scout Organization of the Diocese during Prayers for Peace, Unity and Reconciliation at St Joseph the worker Cathedral on Saturday.
