After waiting for almost a year,\nChristians of Wiliro Zone under St Joseph the Worker Cathedral, were all smiles\nat Bishop Martin Anwel Mtumbuka consecrated St Pius XI Prayer House on 10th<\/sup>\nNovember, 2019. The official opening of the Church drew hundreds of Christians\nfrom other with the jurisdiction of the Cathedral parish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In his homily, Bishop Mtumbuka\nreminded the faithful of the significance of this church building as house of\nprayer. He was quick to warn the faithful that the church is the presence of\nGod among them. He stressed that the church house is not like any other house\nbecause it is a house where people meet God and God meets His people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMy dear brothers and sisters gathered\nhere and all of you who are following us on our radio, get it very clearly here,\nthis house of prayer has unique role in our Christian life, it is the presence\nof God among us,\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe must always bear in mind that\nour hearts, too, are supposed to be the dwelling place of God. We must strive\nto live a life of holiness,\u201d said the Bishop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Commenting on the role of the\nfaithful in the construction of the church, Bishop Mtumbuka expressed gratitude\nfor this real sign of cultivating a self reliant church. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Speaking on behalf of the\nfaithful of the St Joseph the Worker, Mons Denis Chitete thanked the Bishop for\ndedicating the prayer house. He also appreciated the contributions of all\npeople towards the construction of the church. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Catholic faith reached Wiliro\nin 1945, through the missionary work of Missionaries of Africa, also known as\nWhite Fathers.
